Chelsea Insist On Keeping Lukaku

Chelsea have a strange relationship with Lukaku who despite proving himself season after season, fails to become part of the Blues plans. According to the Independent, the Belgian international wants to leave Stamford Bridge if no guarantee is made he will become part of the starting eleven or at least a key member of the 1st team squad. It is somewhat understandable for a player of his age and quality to become frustrated when seeing Mourinho prefer Eto’o over him. Despite the Cameroonian’s decent performances, he was still no were near as good as the young striker sent on loan to Everton.

With Diego Costa being closer to a transfer than ever, it is hard to say what is going to happen to Lukaku. Apparently Chelsea are not keen on selling him just yet. Scoring 15 times for his current team is not enough to convince Mourinho that the club will make a profit. After sending £18m to Anderlecht in order to bring the Belgian international to London, the Blues are looking to improve on that. Apparently, sending him out on a third year on loan will increase his value even more.

It is strange though why Lukaku is not returning to Stamford Bridge to stay. He is way better than all three strikers Mourinho has at his disposal. Add to that the fact that rumors have it Torres, Demba Ba and Eto’o have their bags packed and you get a real mystery. The young Belgian striker would be a great back-up for Costa who has yet to speak about his move to London. An answer will emerge more than likely after the Champions League final Atletico are due to play next week but until then the rumors will rumble on and on…
