Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Reece James, Tosin Adarabioyo, Romeo Lavia & 4 Others

Chelsea head Liam Rosenior has confirmed that captain Reece James has picked up an illness

The right-back had missed the last two games against Arsenal (in the Carabao Cup) and Wolves due to a knock, but he has now suffered another setback.

Rosenior says that James is the only player to be struck down with the virus so far.

The club had similar issues with illness in the playing squad shortly after Rosenior arrived at the club.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Tosin Adarabioyo

The centre-back has fully recovered from the hamstring injury that he sustained against Brentford last month.

Rosenior says Adarabioyo is “looking good”, having trained on Monday, so he should be available for selection.

Expected Return Date – Tuesday 10th February vs Leeds (h)

Romeo Lavia

The midfielder has been back training with the first team over the last two days, which suggests that he is close to making his first appearance since November.

Rosenior said that there is a “detailed plan” for managing Lavia’s recovery, who has had countless setbacks since moving to Chelsea in 2023.
