Latest Chelsea Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Reece James & Romeo Lavia

Chelsea full back Reece James is set to miss out on Chelsea’s games before the September international break due to a thigh injury.

The England international suffered a knock whilst playing a friendly against Real Madrid in pre-season and the Blues had to take him off thanks to a thigh issue.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said that the Blues are “managing the situation well” as it looks like the 24-year-old will likely miss at least one more game before he is fit to return.

James has faced injury problems before with a thigh injury in December that kept him sidelined for half of last season. He has also previously had issues with his knee, but the thigh is a concern due to the number of times James has faced problems with it.

Expected return date: Saturday 14 September vs Bournemouth

Chelsea only have one other injury in the form of Romeo Lavia who was unable to play in their game against Wolves which ended in a 6-2 win for Enzo Maresca’s side.

The midfielder suffered a hamstring issue in training and has been given a status of 25% likeliness to return for the Blues’ next game against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Lavia has a tight hamstring and no date has yet been given for his return, but it seems as though the 20-year-old will likely return sooner rather than later for the Blues.

Lavia started his season well for Chelsea during their 2-0 loss to Manchester City and will be hoping that his hamstring injury is nothing more than a minor issue so he can return as soon as possible.

Expected return date: Unknown
