Updates On Malo Gusto And 3 More: Chelsea Latest Injury News And Expected Return Dates

Chelsea full-back Malo Gusto missed the Blues’ last game due to a hamstring injury that he is recovering from.

The Blues won 1-0 against Everton in a crucial three points, as it has kept their hopes of finishing in a Champions League spot well and truly alive.

Enzo Maresca‘s side are fifth in the Premier League, level on points with Nottingham Forest in sixth. If they finish in a top five spot, they will be in the Champions League next season.

However, they may have to deal without Gusto for some time more, as the defender isn’t expected to return until the first week of May at the earliest possible time.

Maresca said before the game against Everton at the weekend: “Malo is injured, but it does not look like an important injury. He is running and doing things outside, but he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game.”

He is currently being assessed, but is not expected to be available for Chelsea’s Conference League semi-final first leg against Djurgarden on Thursday, but he could return for the second leg. In between those two games, the Blues have a Premier League game against confirmed champions Liverpool.

Expected return date – Sunday 4 May vs Liverpool (H)

Marc Guiu

Striker Guiu had originally expected to be back by now, but after suffering a set-back in his recovery, he continues to deal with a hamstring injury moving forward.

Maresca said over the weekend: “Marc is still out. He is doing well, and he is getting closer. Maybe another one or two weeks and then we hope he will be back to help us with the final part of the season.”

Expected return date – Sunday 11 May vs Newcastle United (A)

Omari Kellyman

It has been a disappointing season for Kellyman, who has virtually missed the entirety of his first year at Stamford Bridge with a hamstring injury. He had all but recovered by March, but then suffered a set-back, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

He said: “Beyond gutted to say that this season has come to an early end for me due to a re-injury of my hamstring. 24-25 has been a tough season for me mentally and physically due to injury, but it’s important now that I take time to get this right…”

Expected return date – June 2025

Wesley Fofana

Fofana was ruled out for the remainder of the season in earlier in April after he suffered a hamstring injury earlier in Spring.

It means that Maresca will have to go the rest of the year playing a combination of Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile at centre-back.

Expected return date – July 2025
