Reece James
Left-back Reece James is moving ever closer to a return for the Blues after he has been out injured since their pre-season game against Real Madrid in July.
He had to be taken off during the match due to an issue with his thigh with many expecting him to return before the current international break, however, James is still not available.
Due to the break, it is likely that Enzo Maresca will have his captain back for the Blues’ trip to Anfield which would be a big boost for Chelsea as they aim to slow down Liverpool’s electric wingers.
Expected return date – Sunday 20 October vs Liverpool (A)
Carney Chukwuemeka
Midfielder Chukwuemeka was in the squad during Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Gent in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, however, he suffered an illness which kept him out of action.
Therefore the 20-year-old missed the 1-1 draw against Forest but shouldn’t be out for too long considering the international break gives a chance for him to recover.
Expected return date – Sunday 20 October vs Liverpool (A)
Omari Kellyman
Kellyman re-aggravated a hamstring injury that he initially sustained whilst at Aston Villa last season. He moved to Chelsea over the summer but hasn’t been able to make an impact on the first team due to his injury.
However, he is beginning to get there and will likely make a return in November or December. According to GiveMeSport, he is bSatiack on grass but just running as part of his recovery, however, it means he won’t be too far away from returning to training with the first team.
Expected return date – Saturday 23 November vs Leicester City (A)
