Chelsea winger Estevao is set to be available against Arsenal at the weekend despite an injury scare midweek.
The Brazilian international scored a superb goal against Barcelona in the Champions League, and he has arguably been one of the Blues’ best players this season, scoring five goals since he joined in the summer transfer window.
He had to be taken off 83 minutes into the Blues’ clash against Barcelona on Tuesday night, leading many to believe that he could be a doubt for the Arsenal game at the weekend. However, the Standard reports that the winger was okay, and Enzo Maresca confirmed after the game that he’d be available for the Gunners game.
Expected return date – Sunday 30 November vs Arsenal
Cole Palmer
Palmer has been dealing with a toe injury as he fractured his foot in an accident at home, forcing him to miss the games against Burnley and Barcelona. He has returned to individual training this week.
Maresca said on Monday: “We don’t know when, but for sure [he will be back] soon. He’s already on the pitch and touching the ball. The feeling is good.
“The last time I spoke with Cole was yesterday after the session to ask how he was feeling. He was feeling good.” – There is a chance he could be available against Arsenal.
Expected return date – Sunday 30 November vs Arsenal
Romeo Lavia
Belgian midfielder Lavia is dealing with a quad injury that he suffered during Chelsea’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Qarabag at the start of the month.
At the time, it was said he’d be ruled out for a whole month, so is looking a return in early December at the earliest. But, based on his poor injury record, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this become later.
Expected return date – Saturday 6 December vs Bournemouth
Dario Essugo
Essugo suffered an injury whilst on international duty with Portugal’s U21s, and he had to undergo surgery on his thigh.
It means that the midfielder likely won’t be available until into the January transfer window, when he could push for a loan move away.
Expected return date – Saturday 4 January vs Manchester City
Levi Colwill
Centre-back Colwill suffered a knee injury in training after the Club World Cup, and will likely be out for the remainder of the season. Reports have said that the defender may even miss the start of the next season, which is a massive blow.
Since his injury, the Blues have struggled to find a consistent centre-back pairing, as Colwill was one of the nailed on members of Maresca’s squad.
