Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is currently being assessed ahead of their game against Benfica in the Champions League.
The Blues come off a very disappointing 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, which caused many Chelsea fans to boo Enzo Maresca’s side. It means consecutive league defeats too, putting them eighth in the league table.
However, Chelsea have a quick turnaround and will be turning their attention to the Champions League, as they face off against Portuguese side Benfica on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge. They will hope to get their first win in the competition after they lost to Bayern Munich in the first week.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo could miss Tuesday’s game as he is currently being assessed over a knock that he picked up in the loss to Brighton.
Expected return date – 30/09/2025 vs Benfica (H)
Joao Pedro
Striker Pedro also picked up a knock whilst playing against his former side in Brighton, making him a doubt for the game against Benfica.
He, like Caicedo is being assessed ahead of the game, and the Blues will hope that their star striker can be available to start against Benfica on Tuesday.

Andrey Santos
Midfielder Santos is also in the same position as Pedro and Caicedo, as he picked up a knock against Brighton too, which could mean that he’s unavailable for the game against Benfica.
Maresca spoke about all three players on Monday morning ahead of the Champions League clash. He said: “This afternoon, we are going to assess Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos. Unfortunately for us, they all have small problems. We are going to see if they are available for tomorrow.”
