Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Enzo Fernandez has returned to training.

The Argentinian international missed the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend due to a knee problem, but speaking in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Maresca said:

“Enzo took part in the session yesterday [Monday]. We have one more session and we will see what we do tomorrow [Wednesday]. It’s not something to be worried about, but we just have to protect Enzo.”

There is a chance that Fernandez could make the bench for the Champions League fixture against Ajax but the Blues may opt to give him more time to regain full fitness.

Expected Return Date – Wednesday 22nd October vs Ajax (h) or Saturday 25th October vs Sunderland (h)
