‘Just End The Season Now’ ‘It’s So Over’ Chelsea Fans Worried As Maresca Issues Concerning Injury Update

Chelsea F.C manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Cole Palmer will undergo a scan to determine the seriousness of the injury that forced him to miss the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

The midfielder’s problem was initially played down as a minor knock but Maresca now says that Palmer will have more tests to determine the extent of the issue:

“His injury was from yesterday’s [training] session, it’s a muscular problem. He needs a scan, and it is planned for tomorrow [Monday] morning. I hope he can be back for our next game, but we need to wait for a scan.”

“We don’t wish players injury, but probably in Cole’s case in this moment it will give him some rest, physically and mentally, it could be good.”

Fans on X are now concerned that Palmer could be on the sidelines for a lengthy period of time:

The international break has come at the right time for Palmer

While there is no good time for a key player to pick up an injury, the fact that the Blues won’t play again for more than two weeks means there is a chance for the England international to recover his fitness.

The next game is another London derby against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on April 3rd.

Chelsea need more creativity

The Blues struggled to test David Raya in Arsenal’s goal at the weekend and Palmer’s absence was keenly felt. If he is out for a considerable amount of time, it would damage the club’s prospects of finishing in the Champions League places.

It should be pointed out, though, that the likes of Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson should soon return to fitness so, even if Palmer is unavailable, Maresca will have other attacking options at his disposal.
