Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer says he will “soon” be back in contention to play for the Blues.
The 23-year-old has been carrying a groin injury and he has missed the last two fixtures against West Ham and Fulham. However, writing in Instagram, Palmer hinted that his comeback is not far off:
Enzo Maresca’s side take on Brentford next Saturday, and there is optimism that Palmer will be in the matchday squad for that fixture.
Palmer was not called up for international duty
The playmaker would have been included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
However, the decision was made that Palmer needed more time to recover from his injury, and it is hoped the two-week gap between club fixtures will be enough for him to get back fully fit.
