Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James & 3 Others

Chelsea centre-back Benoit Badiashile is expected to be available for the FA Cup quarter-final against Port Vale this weekend.

The Frenchman was omitted from the matchday squad for the Blues’ last match versus Everton due to illness.

With Liam Rosenior’s side facing a lower league opponent at home on Saturday, Badiashile would be favourite to start.

He has made just 7 appearances since the appointment of Rosenior at the beginning of January.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 4th April vs Port Vale (h)

Trevoh Chalobah

The centre-back sustained an ankle injury in the closing stages of the 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Rosenior has estimated that Chalobah will be on the treatment table for up to six weeks.

It means a return before the end of April is unlikely, which indicates that he will miss at least four matches.

Expected Return Date – May

Reece James

The captain has suffered a major hamstring injury. Rosenior has played down the seriousness of the problem and claims the fullback’s fitness will be re-assessed after the international break.

However, reports from reliable sources have suggested James is fighting to be back before the end of the season.

James has already missed two fixtures, having last played in the 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle.

Expected Return Date – May
