Latest Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemeka And 9 Others

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez will have a late fitness test ahead of the match versus Burnley.

The Argentinian international returned late from international duty and, like vice-captain Ben Chilwell (who picked up a knock playing for England), they are both touch and go to make the squad this weekend.

Estimated Return Date – Saturday 30th March v Burnley

Trevoh Chalobah has suffered a minor fitness setback and is a major doubt for the game against Burnley. The Blues have added the centre-back to their injury list, stating he is currently “in partial team training”.

There was no indication that he had picked up an issue after the victory over Leicester in the FA Cup. It is a setback for the player who has spent the majority of the season on the treatment table.

Estimated Return Date – Thursday 4th April v Manchester United

Levi Colwill is still undergoing rehabilitation as he continues his recovery from a toe injury. It was hoped he’d be back after the international break but that doesn’t look to be the case.

The defender last played in the 2-2 draw against Brentford at the start of the month. If he can return to training at the start of next week, he could be in contention to face United.

Estimated Return Date – Thursday 4th April v Manchester United

Christopher Nkunku was estimated to be available again within a month following the hamstring injury he picked up in the Carabao Cup final versus Liverpool in February.

However, despite it now being late Match, the Frenchman is still undergoing rehabilitation. He may need another week or two to return to training.

Estimated Return Date – Sunday 7th April v Everton

Reece James is continuing to make progress as he bids to make his return from an operation on a hamstring injury.

The fullback went under the knife in late December and he was estimated to be back in action within four months. His comeback is pencilled in for the end of April.

Estimated Return Date – Tuesday 23rd April v Arsenal

Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana have both been ruled out for the rest of the season due to serious injuries.

The pair have played 32 minutes between them this campaign, with Lavia having had multiple injury problems, while Fofana suffered an ACL in pre-season.

Estimated Return Date – Next Season

Carney Chukwuemeka and Robert Sanchez have been added to the injury list with no explanation as to why they are unavailable.

Chukwuemeka withdrew from England’s Under 21 squad due to a minor knock but it appears to be a slightly more serious issue than initially reported.

Estimated Return Date – Unknown
