Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto was forced off in the latter stages of the 2-1 win over Fulham last weekend.
The Frenchman had only replaced captain Reece James at half-time, but after dribbling the ball whilst being pressed by Adama Traore, he pulled up.
Gusto was substituted and, speaking after the game, head coach Enzo Maresca said the nature of the injury indicated that the defender could be on the sidelines for quite a while:
“For sure, it is not a good one, a muscle problem.”
There is little to no chance that Gusto will recover in time for the match against Everton on Saturday, while he is also a major doubt for the first leg of the Conference League semi-final versus Djurgarden.
