Latest Chelsea Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto And 8 Other Players

Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer was substituted against Sheffield United last weekend as a precaution.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed after the game that the player was taken off to protect him after he picked up a minor knock in the previous fixture versus Manchester United.

Malo Gusto was not part of the matchday squad for the 2-2 draw against the Blades due to illness but he has been pictured training with the first-team squad this week.

It is anticipated that both Palmer and Gusto will feature when the Blues face Everton on Monday night.

Vice-captain Ben Chilwell missed the draw against Burnley and the victory over Manchester United due to a knee injury he picked up on international duty.

He then was unavailable for the match versus Sheffield United due to illness but it is hoped that he will be in contention to face the Toffees.

Levi Colwill is hoping to return from a toe injury for the FA Cup semi-final later this month.

The defender has not been seen in action since he was taken off in the closing stages of the 2-2 draw against Brentford at the start of March.

Robert Sanchez is back on the treatment table. The Spaniard did play against Leicester in the FA Cup before the international break but he appears to have picked up another problem.

Lesley Ugochukwu, Christopher Nkunku and captain Reece James are all in rehabilitation due to hamstring injuries but no estimate has been given on when they will make their return.

Midfielder Romeo Lavia and centre-back Wesley Fofana have been ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

Lavia has played just 32 minutes since arriving from Southampton last summer, with a thigh issue having plagued him in recent months. Fofana, meanwhile, has taken longer than expected to recover from an ACL injury he sustained before the campaign began.
