Chelsea In Talks With Everton Following £45 Million Bid For 22 Year Old Midfielder

Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is currently the subject of a £45 million bid from Everton, according to reports. The fee will entail a £40 million initial fee, with an additional £5 million in add-ons.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano exclusively announced that the deal was in motion today. He also mentioned that Chelsea will make their decision ‘soon’ as “other clubs” (believed to be West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle) are also thought to be interested in the Epsom-born midfielder.

In the tweet, Romano wrote: “It’s £40m proposal plus £5m add ons. Chelsea will make a decision soon as there are also other clubs interested in Gallagher — and player has to decide his future too.”

Gallagher is just one of many standout products of the Chelsea youth academy. It has produced a plethora of talented individuals in recent years, including Mason Mount, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori.

The 22-year-old impressed on loan at Crystal Palace last season, scoring eight goals in 34 Premier League games. His performances earned him an England call up – he currently has four caps for the Three Lions. This season, however, he’s mustered just one goal and one assist in 16 Premier League appearances.

He’s an adaptable player who can function as both a defensive and an attacking midfielder. He’s most comfortable when deployed centrally, though.
