Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

The Ivory Coast midfielder has been a revelation over the past couple of seasons and his fine performances have attracted a lot of attention this summer, with clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal said to be monitoring his situation at the Ligue 1 side.

Arsenal are believed to have held talks with Nice last summer over a potential move for the 26-year-old, and have revived that interest again. But according to reports in France, Chelsea have stepped up their efforts to prize the midfielder away and talks are at an advanced stage.

It is believed that Chelsea are still yet to agree a fee with Nice for the player, but Seri himself is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.

Of course, it remains unclear who will manage Chelsea into next season, with Antonio Conte still in charge but vast reports stating that the Blues are on the lookout for a new manager.

Whoever it is in the hot seat next season, Seri will be a welcomed addition to the squad and serve as a major blow to the Gunners and Manchester United if they fail to secure his services.
