Chelsea have held discussions with ex-PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel, according to Le10 Sport. The French publication reports sources have told them that there have been “very concrete contacts” between the two parties.

However, the 47-year-old does also have other options on the table. The German has previously been approached by Bayern Munich and Manchester United, but it is believed Barcelona are also keen admirers.

Le10 Sport claims that Tuchel is “greatly appreciated” by the Catalan club, and he could be considered if the axe does fall on Ronald Koeman between now and the end of the season.

However, it must be pointed out that Barca do have presidential elections very soon, and the winner of that race may have very different ideas about potential managerial appointments.

With that in mind, Chelsea are very much the frontrunners for Tuchel at the moment. Current boss Frank Lampard needs to show a swift turnaround in form in upcoming games to ensure the Blues don’t look to the German or other options to replace him in the hot seat.
