Chelsea, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all “signalled an interest” in Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, according to Sky Sports Germany.
The arrival of Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax on a free transfer means Pavard’s position at right-back is under threat, while his game time could be limited further if Matthijs de Ligt also moves to the Bundesliga club.
A meeting between Bayern and Pavard’s representatives has already taken place to discuss the France international’s future and a sale has not been ruled out during the summer transfer window.
Sky claim that the 26-year-old’s “market value” is €39m (£33m) but it is not clear whether Bayern intend to hold out for a bigger sum, considering he only has two years remaining on his contract.
Pavard would be a perfect fit for Chelsea’s three-at-the-back system and, while the Blues have not made a formal approach for the defender yet, it could be something that is seriously worth considering.
