Chelsea will have to decide among 4 strikers for next season after landing Diego Costa. Lukaku will also be returning to London after he finishes with the World Cup competition. The Belgian has managed some really impressive performances but his fallout with the club will probably result in a transfer. That leaves the Blues with Torres, Demba Ba and Diego Costa. The first two will be looking to leave Stamford Bridge in order to get some more time on the pitch. With Atletico’s former striker set to become Mourinho’s first choice, it is hard to believe any of the two will make too many appearances if they decide to stay. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are already looking to bring in a new striker. Fenerbahce’s Emmanuel Emenike made the Blues’ wish-list after some great performances for both his club and national team. Valued at £15million, the Nigerian striker could be paid off with the money Mourinho will get after selling Lukaku whose price is increasing with each World Cup match.

Until Emenike’s transfer is finalized, Chelsea have signed another Atletico player. Tiago Mendes who has worked with Mourinho before, will be given a 2 year deal to join the Blues. The 33 year old who will be returning to Stamford Bridge after 9 years and will be playing in a substitute roles often one suspects, as it is hard to believe Matic, Mikel and Ramires could become Mourinho’s second choices but Tiago is a mature player who can provide cover in several key areas in big games and the Special One trusts him.

Having won the League in England, Spain and France as well as numerous other cups in those countries, Tiago is a solid team player who always makes the right pass, rarely giving up possession and can win you games. Forget about all the headlines and mega-money moves, the Tiago deal could end up being Mourinho’s shrewdest deal of the summer.
