Chelsea Have Made Diego Costa Transfer Official

Diego Costa finally became Chelsea’s player on the 1st of July. The Brazilian born Spanish international who has been targeted by the Blues for a while now, will be joining the Londoners as soon as possible as Mourinho agreed to meet Atletico’s £32million buy-out clause. According to the Daily Mail, the striker will leave Madrid and join Chelsea just as the training period begins. It was one of the most eagerly awaited transfers of the summer. In desperate need of some extra power which should have been provided by Torres, Demba Ba and Etoo, the Blues will have no reason not to win at least one trophy this season.

The 25 year old has agreed to a transfer weeks before leaving for Brazil. All that was left was for the two clubs to reach common ground. After negotiations failed, and relations between Chelsea and Atletico cooled down, the Blues decided to pay the £32million which will break Costa’s current contract. There were rumors who included Courtois and Torres in this deal but none of them seem to get it right. Courtois is coming back to London and Torres is not going anywhere.

Even though Chelsea spent £60million on transfers, the financial balance is taken care of after Luiz left for PSG who paid £50million for the Brazilian defender. It is expected that Chelsea will be selling some other players in order to make way for yet another one of Atletico’s main men. Felipe Luis could join Costa and Tiago who came free of contract, in playing for Chelsea during next season.
