Chelsea have “joined” Bayern Munich in pursuing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Serbian international is weighing up whether to leave his current club at the end of the season, having struggled to score goals in the system that manager Max Allegri deploys.
Vlahovic reportedly cost Juve close to €90m (£79.4m) when he moved from Fiorentina fifteen months ago but it appears they may be willing to cut their losses this summer.
Calciomercato claim that Chelsea will consider making an offer for the 23-year-old or Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as they look to strengthen their options up front.
Considering most reports have suggested that Osimhen’s asking price is well above €100m, Vlahovic would likely be the cheaper option, especially if Juventus are forced into selling the forward.
The Serie A side have been given a fifteen-point deduction for financial irregularities. They are appealing the decision but, if it proves to be unsuccessful, they are expected to miss out on Champions League football. That could lead to a firesale of players.
