Chelsea Handed Massive Injury Boost With Player Expecting To Return To Action Next Week

Chelsea could have Trevoh Chalobah back available for the game against Everton on Thursday week, according to reports in England.

It was feared that the centre-back could be sidelined for a while after sustaining a hamstring strain in the 2-1 win over Watford.

However, Chalobah’s injury is reportedly not as bad as first feared and manager Thomas Tuchel may be able to include him in the matchday squad when they face the Toffees at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old won’t be available for this evening’s game against Zenit St Petersburg, while the Blues will also have to do without him when they face Leeds on Saturday.

Considering that it was anticipated he could be out until the New Year, missing only three matches in total ahead of a busy festive period is a massive boost.

Chelsea already have a number of other fitness concerns with the likes of Mateo Kovacic (virus), Jorginho (back), N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell (both knee) still sidelined.
