Chelsea Handed Massive Boost As Havertz’s Teammate Gives Hint About Star’s Future

Bayer Leverkusen left-back Wendell has revealed that midfielder Kai Havertz is very interested in a move to the Premier League:

“If he goes to the Premier League, he will learn a lot. I think Kai dreams of playing there. He has that desire, and I think if he decides to play in England he will be a success.”

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a bid for the 21-year-old and their chances of signing him appear to have been boosted by his teammate’s comments.

Reports in the UK suggest that the Blues could even make an offer after Leverkusen’s match against Bayern Munich in the German Cup final this weekend.

The German international has also been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool but Chelsea could well steal a march on their rivals with an early bid.

Frank Lampard’s side have been proactive in the transfer market in recent months, having already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season. Will the London club get a third signing in through the door before the season is over? We shall have to wait and see.
