Chelsea Handed Double Fitness Boost Ahead Of Key Fixtures

Chelsea defenders Andreas Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah have both been pictured back in full training today after recovering from fitness problems.

Christensen missed the 2-0 win over Tottenham before the winter break after testing positive for the virus but he is expected to be fit to play against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup this weekend.

Chalobah, meanwhile, did make the bench for the Spurs clash, although he wasn’t deemed fit enough to start after only recently returning from a hamstring problem.

The Blues face Plymouth on Saturday before they fly out to the United Arab Emirates to take part in the Club World Cup. Reece James is also thought to be closing in on his comeback and could play a role in the tournament.

The fullback has not featured since the 1-1 draw against Brighton in December due to his own hamstring injury but he should be in contention if Chelsea make it through to the final in Abu Dhabi.
