Chelsea Go Through To The Quarter-Finals

Chelsea’s players looked concentrated and determined despite their not so great last performances. Galatasaray stood no chance in front of the Blues who dominated the entire game. The Turkish side did not fire a single shot at Cech throughout the whole 90 minutes. On the other side, Mourinho managed to put together a very offensive team which fired 20 shots towards Muslera who was unable to keep out Eto’o and Cahill’s attempts.

The opening score came from Eto’o who found the back of the net after Hazard and Oscar took out the defense with some skilled passing. The assist came from the Brazilian who managed his 4th assist of the season.

There was not much going on especially on behalf of Galatasaray who were only dangerous through Drogba and Felipe Melo. The two got close to scoring but failed to hit the target.

Cahill took advantage of some inaccurate defending during a set piece and fired a powerful shot past Muslera who deflected Terry’s header right in front of Chelsea’s defender.

The Blues settled the game with 45 minutes to go. Even so they still had some great chances to increase their lead. Willian, Hazard and even Azpiliqueta tried their luck but failed to increase the score. The match was pretty one-sided up until the end with the only things worth mentioning being a couple of yellow cards given by the referee to players on both sides.

Chelsea move on to the quarter-finals now after an efficient 3-1 victory over the two legs.
