Chelsea Go Through The Next Stage Of The FA Cup In Style

It was a difficult first half for Chelsea who had trouble finding the net. Watford were aggressive and played without any inhibition. The Blues struggled to get shots in and had trouble going passed a solid defense. As expected, Mourinho rested some of his most important players. Hazard, Matic and Fabregas were given some free time to recover. Captained by Drogba, Chelsea tried scoring through Schurrle, Cahill and also through their captain, but missed due to Jonathan Bond’s excellent saves. There was nothing noticeable on behalf of Watford who barely made it to the other half of the pitch. Cech had an easy night and made some easy saves.

Chelsea came out more motivated in the 2nd half and managed to score three times in 14 minutes, thus making it to the 4th round of the FA Cup. Mourinho made a smart change and sent Willian to replace Schurrle. The Brazilian managed one of the best goals of the week, after shooting the ball from right outside the box, into the top right corner. Remy continued his impressive record which involves scoring every time he starts for the club and made it 2-0. Zouma closed the deal with a powerful header which was the result of a great assist by Azpilicueta who crossed the ball from the right side of the box right on to his fellow defender’s head.

Chelsea will now face either Millwall or Bradford City in the 4th round of the FA Cup after they replay their 3rd round tie.
