Chelsea Given Massive Injury Boost Ahead Of Sunday’s Game Against Palace

Chelsea attacking midfielder Eden Hazard will be fit to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, according to the Evening Standard.

The Belgian playmaker had to sit out the Blues’ 4-0 win against Burnley at the weekend with a back injury, but he has now returned to full fitness.

As expected, though, Hazard will not be selected to play in the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie versus Derby County this evening with manager Maurizio Sarri using the full depth of his squad.

The  27-year-old returned to full training today, but the club will not risk him ahead of more important matches in the league.

Chelsea do have some selection issues for the front three ahead of tonight’s game. Pedro is ill and Olivier Giroud is suffering leg fatigue. It means Alvaro Morata will likely start the match, along with Victor Moses and possibly Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a forward role.

However, the Blues do have other options with teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi having come on against BATE Borisov last week.
