Chelsea forward set to follow Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid in shock £70 million move

Chelsea have offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Willian, according to shock reports from Spain.

Willian has heavily rumoured to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge over the summer, with both Manchester United and Barcelona interested in the Brazilian forward.

However after the departure of former boss Antonio Conte and subsequent appointment of Maurizio Sarri, the 30-year-old opted to stay at Stamford Bridge.

It was understood Sarri was keen to keep hold of Willian, however reports from Spain now suggest he could look to offload the Brazil international before the end of the month.

Mundo Deportivo claim that Chelsea have offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Willian for around €80million, with another €10million paid to the player’s agent as part of the deal.

Madrid wanted to land Willian’s team-mate, Eden Hazard, this summer, however were unsuccessful in their attempts to land the 27-year-old despite him airing his desire to move to the Bernabeu.

Chelsea are set to offer Hazard an huge £300,000 per week contract to remain at the club, and will hope offering Madrid Willian will help fend off their interest in the Belgium international.

Chelsea and Madrid have already had a positive summer between them, with Thibaut Courtois moving to Spain on deadline day in a £35 million deal, and midfielder Mateo Kovacic coming the other way on a season-long loan deal.
