Mourinho’s influence is becoming more and more apparent as time goes by. The Portuguese manager is gradually pulling Chelsea away from the other Premier League teams who currently look incapable of stopping what could be the first trophy of Mourinho’s second Chelsea tenure.
Despite having to deal with a lot of problems especially when it comes to filling out some spots on the team, the Blues still look well able of maintaining a steady rhythm until the end of the season which is the key to winning the Premier League.
Considering this is Mourinho’s first season since returning to London, things seem to be going great. Even with Chelsea’s lack of firepower, they have still managed to put some distance between them and teams like City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to Metro, their latest 4-0 win against Tottenham has massively increased the Blues’ chances of winning the title with them now seven points ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal. Add to that the fact that both teams have to face Manchester City who are 4th and the title race becomes pretty one-sided.
The Citizens are actually the only ones who look capable of catching up with Chelsea. Pellegrini’s side still has three matches in hand over the Blues, even so, they will have to face arguably more difficult adversaries so Chelsea’s chances of grabbing their first title since 2009-10 are looking pretty good these days.
