Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to welcome new signing Olivier Giroud to Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman joined the Blues yesterday afternoon from Arsenal for a fee reported to be in the region of £15 million.
Giroud emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in recent days with the Italian keen to bolster his attacking options and provide support to the struggling Alvaro Morata.
Conte had previously eyed moves for Stoke City’s Peter Crouch and West Ham’s Andy Carroll, however instead opted to turn to Giroud to solve his striking woes.
Giroud scored 105 goals in just over 250 appearances for the Gunners during his five-and-a-half year spell at The Emirates, despite getting most of his playing time from the bench.

After signing, the 31-year-old said: Giroud said: “Chelsea is one of the biggest teams in the Premier League. They have won maybe the most trophies in the last six or seven years. It’s a massive club and I am proud to sign for Chelsea, and I’m looking forward to playing.”
Giroud’s route to Stamford Bridge was paved after Arsenal completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick in a club record deal.
And to complete the transfer triangle, Michy Batshuayi left Chelsea to join Dortmund on a six-month loan deal.
