Chelsea Fans Set For Frank Lampard’s Departure

Even though out of contract, Lampard will still train with Chelsea for the weeks to come. According to the Daily Star, the 36 year old will say goodbye to European football this summer. Leaving Stamford Bridge will probably mean that he will also give up his national team career. It is going to be an emotional period for both him and the fans. Some have known him for as long as they can remember considering the fact that he has been playing for Chelsea for the past 13 years.

In his more than a decade long collaboration with the Blues, Lampard managed an impressive 429 Premier League appearances in which he scored 147 goals. He was one of Chelsea’s most important people for several years including the last two in which he gave it his all.

Since playing for the Londoners, Lampard managed to win an impressive series of individual and collective awards. He is just short of 40 individual successes which include a Ballon d’Or runner up prize and dozens of other distinctions which made him the great player everyone loved. Lampard won all domestic competitions several times and only missed out on the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup trophy.

Before joining the team also owned by Manchester City’s owners, Lampard will continue training with Mourinho who was the one who insisted Lampard stayed for another year during the beginning of last season.
