Chelsea fans say their farewells to ‘hero’ Antonio Conte

Chelsea fans have said their farewells to Antonio Conte after the Italian was sacked from his role as manager.

The Blues are yet to make an official announcement that Conte has parted ways with the club, however a number of players have confirmed the 48-year-old’s exit visa social media.

Midfielder Cesc Fabregas has thanked Conte on instagram and wished him “luck for the future”, while former star John Terry also paid tribute to the Italian with a photo of the two captioned “Thank you boss”.

Conte’s sacking comes after a tumultuous season at Stamford Bridge in which he publicly fell out with club owner Roman Abramovich on multiple occassions.

And Chelsea finishing fifth in the Premier League – missing out on Champions League football – proved to be the final nail in the Italian’s coffin.

In his first season with the Blues, Conte guided Chelsea to the Premier League in record fashion – winning 30 of their 38 games en route to the title.

And while Chelsea’s league campaign may not have been so successful last term, Conte’s side ended the season on high by winning the FA Cup.

The fans are certainly sad to see you go, Antonio. Grazie!
