Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer had a historic afternoon on Saturday as he netted four times in the first half, something that has never been done in the Premier League.
It was during a 4-2 win for Enzo Maresca’s side over Brighton with all six goals coming in the first 45 minutes. Palmer was Chelsea’s standout as he didn’t just score goals, but was seemingly involved in every attacking move that the Blues had.
Following the game Enzo Maresca told BBC Sport: “He could have scored two or three more. Happy for him that he scored four. I’ve said many times before, he is a top player, he is a fantastic player and he has to continue in the same way.”
Chelsea fans reacted to Cole Palmer’s historic performance
Following the game, Chelsea fans took to X to show their appreciation for Palmer in what will be a game that the 22-year-old won’t forget in a hurry.

Cole Palmer can have a Mo Salah-like season
Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge for £39 million in the summer of 2023 and has begun his second season with the Blues.
So far, the England international has made 53 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 31 goals and 19 assists. This season, Palmer already has six goals and four assists in six matches.
His tally come the end of the season could be up there with some of the best seasons that we’ve seen from elite Premier League attackers such as Mo Salah.
The blend of scoring goals and creating numerous chances is reminiscent of Salah in his best seasons for Liverpool and the scary thing is, Palmer is just 22.
