Chelsea are keeping tabs on Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli’s contract situation, according to the Daily Mail.

The Brazilian international has less than two years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners, and it is believed that the Blues, along with a number of “top four rivals”, are “monitoring” developments closely.

Martinelli has been in excellent form for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, having scored three goals and contributed one assist in nine appearances. He has played a key role in helping his team top the Premier League table.

The 21-year-old has earned himself plenty of admirers over the last few years, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp having paid him a huge compliment when he described him as the “talent of the century” after a Carabao Cup game.

Whether Martinelli will quite live up to that sort of billing, we shall have to wait and see, but it’s clear that Chelsea are also big fans.
