Chelsea Eyeing Shock Swoop For Mount Replacement Who Was Sold By United For Just 10M

Chelsea are weighing up a summer move for Fulham attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira, according to reports in the UK.

The Blues are struggling to agree terms with Mason Mount over a new contract and they have identified the Brazilian as a potential replacement.

Pereira only moved to Craven Cottage from Manchester United for £10m last summer but he has had a pretty decent season for Marco Silva’s side.

The 27-year-old has scored three goals and contributed six assists in 32 appearances this campaign, helping the Cottagers to ninth in the Premier League table.

Fulham will ask for around £25m to £30m, which is a serious markup on the fee they paid United for Pereira, so there are doubts over whether he would be a good signing.

Chelsea’s preference would still be to keep Mount, but talks over an extension have reached an impasse, with no agreement over salary, bonuses or even the length of the contract.
