Chelsea Eyeing Move For £34.5m Algerian Star If Transfer Ban Is Lifted

Chelsea are keen on recruiting Nice fullback Youcef Atal, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Algerian international has had an excellent season in Ligue One and is believed to be on the radar of a number of top European teams.

Atal is said to be valued at around €40m (£34.5m) by Nice, with Chelsea having added him to a list of potential targets if their appeal against a transfer ban is lifted before the summer.

This season for Nice, the 22-year-old has been used both as a fullback and as a right winger by manager, and former Arsenal star, Patrick Vieira.

Against Guingamp on Sunday, Atal scored a hat-trick playing in a more advanced role, helping his team secure a 3-0 win.

Compared to the more defensive Cesar Azpilicueta, the Algerian would certainly offer a lot more in the attacking third as a fullback and would compliment the offensive instincts of Marcos Alonso on the opposite flank.
