Chelsea Enquired About Signing Real Madrid Whiz Kid With Astronomical Release Clause

Chelsea made an approach for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jnr back in November, according to AS. The Brazilian, who has a staggering £630m release clause, has not had much game time this season leading to speculation about his future.

It is believed Paris Saint-Germain were the first to enquire about the 20-year-old’s availability last summer before Arsenal also registered an interest. The Blues were the last team to make a move for the player but all teams were told by Real, in no uncertain terms, that he is not for sale.

Vinicius is also said to be keen on staying put and he is determined to prove his worth to manager Zinedine Zidane, who only picked him to start in 12 league games last season.

In any case, it looks as though Chelsea have long since moved on to other targets, with the London club still locked in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over signing Kai Havertz.
