Chelsea Doubtful About Signing Ezequeil Lavezzi

The Argentinian, Ezequeil Lavezzi might make his way to Stamford Bridge this summer if he manages to impress while playing for his national team. After being often benched by PSG he seems determined to leave the French capital in order to get more on pitch time. According to Metro, negotiations have already been opened for Lavezzi who is valued at about £18million. Appreciated by Mourinho for his great work ethic, the Argentinian forward refused to speak about his future with Chelsea. He is already 29 which might be a problem that could come between him and the Blues.

Chelsea’s boss seems set on signing young players who will continue playing for the London side for at least 4 years. Lavezzi will more than likely be offered a one or two year deal which would mean a step down from where he is at right now.

One other issue which might prevent this deal from happening is the excellent form Willian, Oscar and Hazard have showcased during their World Cup games. With all three having a pretty similar profile to that of Lavezzi, it is hard to believe the 29 year old will manage to bench any of the three.

Chelsea would be better off fighting Arsenal for Balotelli’s signature. Mandzukic is also ready to leave Bayern which is really good news for the Blues who have yet to sign a striker.
