Chelsea Dealt Serious Injury Setback Ahead Of City Game

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is likely to miss the game against Manchester City on Saturday evening due to a hip injury, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reports that the 21-year-old has failed to recover from the injury he sustained in the 2-0 win against Crystal Palace before the international break.

Pulisic withdrew from the United States squad for the games against Canada and Cuba last week, and despite staying at Cobham to work on his fitness, it appears he is losing his battle to make the starting line up against City.

It will be a blow to manager Frank Lampard who would have likely started the winger at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

Pulisic has been in excellent form over the past month, having scored five goals and contributed two assists in his last six appearances for the Blues. His likely replacement is Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the in-form Willian playing on the opposite flank.
