Chelsea Could Turn To Young Striker

According to Metro, Chelsea may have unearthed a real talent in their youngster Patrick Bamford, who is making a lot of noise in the Championship for his exceptional performances while playing for Derby County where he is on loan.

Bamford began his youth career with Nottingham Forest in 2001, and spent a decade there of his development. Forest then handed him a professional contract, but the youngster made just two appearances for the club. He was then scouted by Chelsea, and subsequently signed by the Blues in 2012. Not having featured for the first team as yet, Bamford has been fully focused on getting experience in the form of loans.

The Blues have been searching for a high-profile striker, but have not had any breakthroughs with their quest in the transfer market. With a few months left to go in the season, if Bamford can keep performing at the level he has been, he could develop into a dependable striker for the Chelsea squad and could certainly save millions of pounds for the club if he can transfer his Championship form to the Premier League. It is a big ask but in the next pre-season he may get his chance to impress the boss and maybe secure a spot in the first team squad.
