Chelsea could be set to announce the signing of Romelu Lukaku as early in July, according to reports.

The Everton striker has already agreed terms with his former club, agreeing a deal worth around £150,000 a week, but it is unclear whether or not a fee has been agreed between the two clubs ahead of the move. Everton reportedly want close to £100m for their prised asset, whereas Chelsea are hoping £70-80m will enable them to re-sign the talisman.

Lukaku has publicly announced his intentions to leave Goodison Park this summer and play for a top Premier League side. Chelsea faced competition from Arsenal and Manchester United for his signature, but it is believed that the Belgian wants to return to Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Express, one of the reasons that the transfer is yet to be announced is an issue with their kit sponsor. The striker would have to pose in Adidas merchandise if the transfer was completed before July 1st, something that would not sit well with Nike. Their deal with Adidas ends on 30th June, so any announcement will certainly be made after that date.

Whilst we are all still in the dark over the transfer of Romelu Lukaku with Man United, Man City and even Arsenal also credited with an interest in him, it seems fairly certain that the forward will be wearing the Blue of Chelsea come next season, it is more a question of when than if.
