Chelsea Continue Hunt For Young Talent

Mourinho looks keen on building a strong base for the years to come. The Portuguese boss has put together a promising squad full of quality young players (and a few veterans) set to deliver major honours for a really long time to come both domestically and in Europe.

According to Metro, the Blues’ latest target comes from the UK. Southampton’s Sam Gallagher who just made his senior debut in 2013 has a strong chance of moving to Stamford Bridge. The 18 year old forward might just decide to follow the same path as players like Walcott, Bale or Oxlade-Chamberlain have. They were all noticed while playing for the Saints and were all given chances to advance to a bigger club. This could be the case for the English U19 international whose career looks quite promising.

Mourinho is definitely on board with a summer move especially considering the fact that he recently admitted to be in it for the long run at Chelsea this time around. Adding a player like Gallagher to your squad would be very tempting for any manager as he could be around for many years to come.

The young forward is valued at £5million which is not a problem for a club as big as Chelsea. Even though Southampton will probably try and hold on to Gallagher for at least one or two more seasons, the Blues still have a pretty big chance of landing him once the transfer window opens.
