Chelsea Contact Premier League Shot Stopper’s Agent About Possible Summer Switch

Chelsea have contacted the entourage of Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita about a possible move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, according to AS.

The Madrid based publication claims that the Blues’ goalkeeper scout Christophe Lovichon has talked with Guaita’s agents to enquire about his interest and his salary demands ahead of a bid for the 32-year-old.

It is thought that Chelsea’s pursuit is not necessarily based on Guaita replacing Kepa Arrizabalaga as the club’s number one. His understudy, Willy Caballero, is expected to leave the London club in the summer and a new goalkeeper will be signed to replace him.

Guaita has been in excellent form this season and it has also led to other Premier League clubs taken an interest in the Spaniard.

Manchester City were linked with the shot-stopper last month as Pep Guardiola searches for a new keeper to replace Claudio Bravo. West Ham are also reportedly interested with the Hammers likely to be seeking a replacement for Lukasz Fabianski.
