Chelsea are really going through some important changes. This winter seems to be the perfect trial for the summer transfer period. The Blues who insisted the team will not undergo any modifications have already signed two new players in Matic and Salah and have sold Mata and De Bruyne.

According to Metro, Mourinho is near to closing the deal on St. Etienne’s Kurt Zouma. The 19 year old Frenchman is currently one of Europe’s most promising players and has been on Chelsea’s wish-list for a while now.

The center back who has been an established member of each and every one of France’s youth teams since he was 15 will move to Stamford Bridge for the next five years. Apparently the youngster chose Chelsea over Inter and Monaco who were also interested in securing his signature.

It looks like Zouma is not going to stay in London for long though. Despite costing Abramovich around £10 million, it is more than likely he will be sent on loan for at least one or two seasons. His possible destinations include St. Etienne or Vitesse.

The 19 year old defender is clearly part of a long term project Chelsea have been talking about since Mourinho returned. The Blues have been looking to sign the youngest and most talented players out there. It is going to be quite the interesting summer considering they have already started making some important moves which can only point towards the fact that Abramovich is willing to spend big once again just as soon as the football season is over.
