Chelsea Chase Pogba

Chelsea have reportedly entered the race for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The Frenchman is a target of various clubs around the world, who are each desperate to acquire the services of one of the best up and coming midfielders. The Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea have seen a £54m bid for the 22-year-old turned down, but are willing to go all guns blazing with a new bid in the coming days.

Pogba has made his name as one of the most exciting players in the world since leaving Manchester United in 2012, however, despite the Chelsea boss saying that Stamford Bridge will not be his next destination – the rumour has re-surfaced. In an interview last month, Mourinho had this to say on Chelsea’s apparent interest in Pogba:

“Pogba is one of the top players in the world. Pogba goes to any team and improves that team automatically.”

“I think everybody has an interest in Pogba. But there are things you can do and things you cannot do. I love the Eiffel Tower but I can’t have the Eiffel Tower in my garden. I can’t even have the Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas.”

Along with the Daily Mail, The Independent have also reported that there is a real chance of the Premier League champions landing the Juventus midfielder this summer, with Jose Mourinho “convinced” he can persuade the Serie A giants to sell “as long as the transfer fee is right.”

We will have to wait and see what happens to one of the best midfielders in the world, but the prospect of him becoming a Blue is extremely exciting.
