REPORT: Chelsea Allegedly Submit Offer For Arsenal Wonderkid

Chelsea have reportedly submitted a formal transfer offer for Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri, according to a report from Football London.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is keen on the Blues signing as many young talents from across the world as possible – some examples of this are Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez, who were all brought to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

While this transfer strategy has been widely criticised, it could bare fruit in the future if a number of the players they have signed materialise into world-class talents.

Last season, Nwaneri became the youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, when he was brought as a substitute against Brentford at the age of 15 years and 181 days. The record was previously held by Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliot, who made his Premier League debut aged 16 years and 174 days.

What will Chelsea gain by signing Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri?

While Nwaneri is far from being a regular in Chelsea’s first team, he is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the Premier League.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Nwaneri can also function on either wing. He possesses a wide skillset – he is a very skilful dribbler and has bags of pace to boot.

In addition to this, he is also an excellent passer of the ball, with laser-like vision to back it up. His potential in the modern game currently appears to be without limits – but where will he end up?

Who else is interested in a move for Ethan Nwaneri?

Chelsea are not the only club who have been linked with a move for Ethan Nwaneri in 2023. According to a report from the Daily Mirror back in March, Manchester City are also interested in the player. Despite this, Pep Guardiola’s men have yet to submit an offer.

Additionally, Liverpool were also thought to be keen on a transfer for Nwaneri. However, like City, nothing has surfaced regarding their interest since the 2023 summer transfer window opened its doors.

As such, Chelsea appear to stand alone in their pursuit of Nwaneri. Nevertheless, Nwaneri is one of Arsenal’s prized youth prospects – they won’t be willing to part ways with him without a fight.
