Chelsea striker Armando Broja struggled to make an impact in the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday afternoon.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino opted to start the 22-year-old ahead of Nicolas Jackson at Goodison Park but the decision failed to pay off. Broja’s struggles have led many on X to call for a new striker to be brought in when the January transfer window opens, although some sprung to the defence of the forward:
He’s not good enough, when will everyone realize this

Pretty clear why Jackson has been getting all the time

I have always thought he wasn’t good enough. Had an ok season at Southampton where there no expectations to win and teams would not defend so deep against them. It was always going to be a struggle when he played for Chelsea

Broja defo ain’t Chelsea quality. Can’t hold it up, can’t head, touch as bad as Lukaku’ s and never threatens in any way whatsoever.

He had no service whatsoever

Some fans are being too harsh on Broja
The Albanian international has not started a game for almost two months so you do have sympathy in terms of him not being up to the speed of the game.
After having spent so long out injured as well, it will take Broja some time to find his feet and get back to the player he was when he was out on loan at Southampton.
Against Everton, his teammates did not help him either, as he had very little service before he was replaced in the second half.
Chelsea will be in the market for a new no.9
While it may not be fair to be too critical of Broja, it’s clear that the Blues need to recruit a striker who will be an upgrade on both the Albanian and Jackson.
At the moment, the main two targets are said to be Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
