Chelsea Are Linked To A Number Of Striking Options

Even though Antonio Conte has denied any conflict between him and Diego Costa, the stories in the press are bound to be having a negative effect between the two. With that kind of speculation came the rumors regarding who could be replacing the Spaniard especially when Batshuayi is also rumored to be going out on loan.

Apparently, according to Metro, three options have already emerged when it comes to strengthening or recreating Chelsea’s attack.

The first option which seems unlikely is Patrick Bamford who got recalled from his loan spell. What many fail to consider is that he probably got recalled to be sold to Middlesbrough for a considerable profit. Rumors have it that he will bring almost 6 times the money he cost to bring to Stamford Bridge which would be good business considering there is no visible future for him in the blue shirt.

The second option would apparently be Alvaro Morata who for some reason some believe will agree to join Chelsea. It is hard to consider this as a valid piece of news as the Spaniard insisted on staying at the Bernabeu despite being offered several attractive departure solutions. He extended his contract in the summer of 2016 knowing very well what will happen. He is quite likely to wait at least until June to reconsider but even that is just speculation.

The third option that made the news is Thomas Muller. While it might be true he is not always used in his favoured position and that it is almost impossible for him to push Robert Lewandowski away, there’s no actual proof he wants to leave. He is under contract until 2021, he has been playing for Bayern all his life and he seems to be the kind of guy who will stick with the Bundesliga.

Out of these three rumors, none seem achievable, not this winter at least. Maybe there will be a chance to land Morata in the summer but that chance will be very slim. If things do go South and Chelsea need to replace Costa they should maybe hold off for someone like Lukaku, Lacazette, Aubameyang or Icardi.
