Chelsea And United Hold Talks To Sign £34m Rated Spanish Ace But La Liga Giants Are ‘Frontrunners’

Chelsea and Manchester United have held talks with Dinamo Zagreb about signing attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to Goal.com.

The website, however, claims that Barcelona are “frontrunners” to sign the Spanish international despite significant differences with Dinamo over the transfer fee for the player.

Barca are said to be hopeful that a €30m (£26m) bid will be enough to land Olmo, while Dinamo are holding out for at least €40m (£34m).

Whether this provides an opening to Chelsea to make a move, we shall have to wait and see. The Blues are interested in signing an attacker in January but Olmo may not be seen as a priority.

The 21-year-old generally plays as a no.10 for Dinamo, and manager Frank Lampard is reportedly prioritising a main striker or a winger before the transfer window closes.

Olmo actually left Barcelona in 2014 to move to Croatia, and it seems he could be returning back to his former club.
