Chelsea And United Have ‘Expressed An Interest’ In French Speedster As Contract Talks Stall

Chelsea and Manchester United have both “expressed an interest” in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, according to Fussballtransfers.com.

The German website reports that the two clubs are keeping a close eye on the France international due to the 24-year-old’s contract situation.

Coman is currently in talks over extending his deal but he is asking for €16m to €17m a season, which is double what he is currently earning at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have not yet responded to the request and, were the Bundesliga champions to reject the terms, it could well spark a scramble for the Frenchman’s signature.

Whether Chelsea actually need another winger, it is questionable, but much may depend on the futures of Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi who have been regularly linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge in recent months.

Coman does have two years remaining on his current contract, so he won’t be a cheap purchase, and we shall have to wait and see how the situation develops in the coming weeks and months.
